3 Questions to Ask a Dental Implant Dentist in Mississauga About the Procedure

If you’re looking for a dental implant dentist in Mississauga, you’re probably concerned about making your smile as perfect as it can be and with good reason. One of the most beautiful things about human beings is our smiles. Besides the fact that greeting other people with a smile makes us feel good, numerous scientific studies show that the act of smiling makes us all feel better.

Questions To Ask a Dental Implant Dentist in Mississauga Area

Why Should I Replace a Missing Tooth?

Besides all of the benefits of smiling that we’re discussed, there are some significant health reasons to replace a missing tooth. The adverse effects of missing teeth are more far-reaching than most people commonly realize. When a tooth is missing, any of the following issues can occur.

  • Difficulty speaking clearly
  • Gum disease
  • Shifting of remaining teeth
  • Remaining teeth developing cavities
  • Inefficient and uncomfortable chewing

Equally important, if you’re missing a tooth, you will likely be embarrassed or self-conscious about your smile. That can lead to an impact on your social life as you limit social interactions. When you’re not around people, you can suffer from depression, loneliness, and more.

What Should I Expect from the Dental Implant Procedure?

The first step of the dental implant procedure will be a consultation and planning session with your dentist. Your dentist will use digital x-rays and intraoral cameras to examine your teeth and jaw carefully. After your planning session, you will schedule your procedure.

When you replace a single tooth or multiple teeth with dental implants, titanium posts are placed in your jawbone. Dental implants serve as anchors for your new teeth. Once the implant fuses permanently to the surrounding bone, your new teeth are anchored firmly in place.

Sedation

Dental implant procedures are gentle and comfortable. However, most dentists offer sedation for the process if the patient wants it.

Final Restoration

Once your implants are in, they’ll be covered with a healing collar or temporary restoration. It will take the bone several weeks or months to fuse with the implant, and once that bonding has happened, your dentist will add the final restoration.

Our Happy Patients Say

Procedure – Gum Disease Testimonial

Hi I’m at dentistry on 10 and I had gum disease and they treated it. Laser treatment, laser gum treatment and I just want to say it was awesome. I have the rota dent brush and I use that daily and it keeps my mouth fresh and clean and hopefully it’ll prevent any future issues. The staff here is amazing, always so polite Doctor Rena rocks. I’ve seen her for years totally rocks. She is very kind gentle, especially if you don’t like the dentist. She’s the one to go to because she’s there for you and she’s sensitive to your needs and she rocks. Just want to say I had a root canal with her many, many, years ago and it she’s so gentle. I don’t know what the big issue is with the root canals, so that’s my feelings. All good. Highly recommend.
