COVID-19 Updates, News, and Information

Dentistry on 10 welcome you back

Dr. Rina Kotecha and the team at Dentistry on 10 welcome you back at our office and are looking forward to serving you again. We have implemented the following procedures and protocols in our office to ensure your safety and wellness.

COVID-19 Protocol - Dr. Rina Kotecha

1. Park and Text feature

The safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff continue to be our main priority, and we have implemented several measures to ensure that everyone remains safe. Accordingly, we are asking patients to park and call or text us from their cars upon arrival at our premises, without coming into our waiting room. We will call them in at the right time. This minimizes the number of patients in our office at any given time and helps prevent the spread of COVID-19.

2. Surgical Air unit in each treatment room

Your safety is our concern and we have made many changes at our office to ensure that you and our staff remain safe and healthy. One is the installation of medical-grade Surgically Clean Air filtration units in each treatment room. The powerful HEPA air purifiers will sterilize and re-energize the air, reducing smells and providing a healthy, hygienic, and comfortable patient experience.

Surgically Clean Air™ Units Are Here!

New HEPA Filtration Systems Have Been Installed At Dentistry On 10

HEPA Filtration System At Dentistry On 10 - Mississauga, ON

At Dentistry on 10, we are committed to providing the safest possible dental experience for both our patients and our staff. While advances in dental technologies have enabled us to provide better dental care in a number of remarkable ways, our high-speed instruments, disinfectants, and ultrasonic tools can also lead to the accumulation of bacteria, viruses, and chemicals in the air circulating through the dental office.

For this reason, Dentistry on 10 has installed the Surgically Clean Air™ HEPA filtration system in EACH room so our patients and staff can have an even safer experience. The 6-stage filtration system uses surgical grade air purifiers similar to those used in hospital settings to sterilize and re-energize the air, while reducing the smells typically associated with a dental office for a more comfortable and healthy patient experience. The air purifiers are very powerful, filtering and replacing the air every four minutes in each treatment room. You can learn more about this medical-grade air purification system and its benefits at https://scadental.com/.

We look forward to serving you soon in our office with Surgically Clean Air!

3. Plexiglass barrier in the front desk

Dr. Rina Kotecha and the team at Dentistry on 10 have taken every possible measure to ensure the safety of their patients and staff. As you will notice when entering the office, a Plexiglass barrier has been erected at the front desk to separate the front desk staff from patients. This minimizes direct contact between them and adheres to COVID-19 safety protocol.

4. Social Distancing in the waiting area

Maintaining a distance of two metres between people when in public areas is a must to prevent the Coronavirus spread. We have rearranged our waiting area, strictly keeping with this safety protocol. So you can rest assured that you are maintaining the health and hygiene guidelines laid down by the authorities concerning the pandemic.

5. Hand Sanitizer and Mask Station

At Dentistry on 10, we pay strict attention to ensuring the health and safety of everyone. One of the steps we have taken at our office is to provide hand sanitizer and masks to all our patients so that they can walk into our practice and receive our dental services without any worries. Sanitizer is available at the entrance and at several strategic points in the practice: Patients can walk into our mask station and put on the masks provided for them before heading for treatment.

6. Quality PPE for the entire team

We have provided the required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for all clinical and non-clinical staff at our practice. These will minimize exposure of both staff and patients to potentially harmful germs.

7. Online forms and check-in

This step will minimize the time spent by patients on fulfilling routine tasks and procedures. Since they have already filled in their forms and checked in online when they arrive at our office, some of the steps to be performed in the office would be eliminated.

8. Reduced and controlled flow of patients

Since patients have already checked in and are waiting in their vehicles until being called in, there will be fewer patients inside the office. This will also enable us to better control the flow of patients.

9. Electronic appointment reminders

We will send electronic appointment reminders to all patients who are scheduled for treatment, well ahead of time. This will eliminate unnecessary waiting or late arrivals due to patients forgetting their appointments.

10. Increased tap limit for facilitation of contactless payment

At Dentistry on 10, we have facilitated more contactless payment options like e-transfers and increased tap limits too. It will minimize our staff and patients physically coming into contact with paper cash.

Hello everyone, I hope you're safe and healthy. Hi my name is Mohammed. I live in Mississauga and I. I just want to let you know if you have happened to suffer from dental problems during this COVID-19 situation. You can still get some assistance, yes. That's based on my personal experience because actually about 10 days ago, I suffered from serious toothache and I was like desperate and not sure if I could get any help and I got in touch with Doctor Rena from dentistry on 10 and she responded right away. Actually, she offered me actually virtual consultation on the same day. Sure, we spoke through one of the online conference calling systems and she asked me questions and I got a little creative because I opened my mouth and I brought my mobile like flashlight and spoon and then I brought my face a little closer to the camera. So, she was able to see my mouth and she could identify that I had an infection and she prescribed medicine that made me feel a little better. And then after a couple of days she offered me to come to the clinic and took some X ray and she was able to identify the problem so. I'm, i'm, very appreciative to what she did to me including her staff like the hygienist, the receptionist there you like, you feel like you get so much attention and care and I just want to let you know like you can contact Doctor Rena dentistry on 10. Their address is 3355 Unitario suite number 10 in Mississauga You can check their website as well. Wish you all the best. Thank you.

Good afternoon, I'm praising and congratulating Doctor Rena and her team from dentistry on 10 for the excellent work and assistance for patients after I contacted the dentistry and explained the issue, I was having Doctor Rena amid the COVID-19 pandemic and using all the required precautions, PPE and physically distance as required. Doctor Rena and her team was able to assist me and repair what's wrong with my mouth. Thank you to Doctor Rena and the on ten team. You are number one in Ontario.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to temporarily shut our doors, with the Royal College of Dental Service of Ontario mandating the closure of all non-essential dental services and Premier Doug Ford declaring a State of Emergency in Ontario on March 17, 2020. However, we remained active and busy during this period. Although we were closed for normal operations, the provision of emergency dental services to communities in and around Mississauga continued. People with dental concerns were assisted via free virtual video consultations. Dr. Kotecha also had her informative article, Tips on How to Manage Dental Emergencies at Home during the Pandemic published in various community newspapers. We expressed our gratitude and support to our frontline workers in numerous ways: Donating nutritious snacks and oral hygiene kits to the nurses of Trillium Hospital and their children was one. Dr. Kotecha also assisted frontline workers of local grocery stores with mask and glove hygiene and donated 3D printed mask straps which helped ease the discomfort they experienced, wearing ill-fitting masks over a long period of time. We believed that it was important to create proper awareness among the community about this pandemic to avoid panic as well. Towards this end, we created several videos that are available on our social media sites and on YouTube. We invite you to check them out and subscribe to our YouTube Channel for further updates, and like and share our Facebook and Instagram pages.

We thank all of you for your support and positive feedback during these difficult times. It motivates us to do even more for our community, as we have now officially opened our practice.

In this video message I wanted to share with my patients and the members of the Mississauga community that although we are closed for regular dental services, we're still here for you and we are here to help. For instance, if you were experiencing bleeding gums and slightly sub gingivitis, and you need a prescription for a medicated mouthwash or a refill on it, please feel free to reach out and we can arrange that for you. If you are a patient of ours and you've been using the rooted in toothbrush and you need a replacement head, feel free to reach out and you know these are still available for purchase or for those patients who haven't had a Rota dent electric toothbrush that we recommend. If you, if you think that your mouth needs extra help, some extra tools to kind of keep things nice and clean and healthy while you cannot you know see us, this is a good alternative to have an extra tool in your toolbox. The rota dent toothbrushes are also available for purchase. Another tip I wanted to share and remind all my lovely patients who have their nightguards is to make sure that you wear them. A friendly reminder during these stressful times is that if you find yourself clenching your teeth while working from home, you know, make sure you wear it during the day as well or at night and make sure you keep it squeaky clean you know run it under hot water soap keep it clean and make sure when you put it back in your face, leave it open to air dry and of course you know keep it over your pets as well. If you are taking, you know, new medications like anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medications and if you feel that your mouth is dry, you know if you have thick saliva, contact us, you know there's something we recommend over the counter mouthwash called biotene, and if you're not sure, please call. We will do a video consult and assess your situation and make recommendations that will work for you. The other thing last but not least, is if you or your family members or anybody who's run out of their oral hygiene supplies the, the, goodies, these are still available for you for free. Call us and my team will be happy to arrange a pick up or delivery for you. I miss you guys. I know things are different and it's difficult right now, but this will end soon and when you this will end soon and when you know when it is safe for you guys to come and see us. We will make sure, your oral health is back on track, and that's a promise. Take care, keep safe and see you soon.

Gloves and Mask Hygiene

Gloves and Mask Hygiene - Dr. Rina Kotecha

Hi this is Doctor Rena Kotecha, your friendly dentist from dentistry on ten today. In this video I wanted to share a tip that would help you in grocery shopping. When you go out for groceries or any essential medical appointments which you decide to wear gloves and mask. I wanted to show you how to wear your gloves, take them off properly and dispose them properly so that you do not spread the germs and the virus around. So let's say we're going grocery shopping and you wear gloves. Make sure it's right fit for your hands and you know you're holding the cards. Doing your grocery shopping and then you're done and you want to take them off this is what I recommend that you do is do in order to prevent contamination. So, take one glove off from the fingertips, pull it like you would you know sock roll this in a fist in the other hand. Take that index finger of the full hand, slide it inside underneath the dirty glove, roll it over 6 feet. The surfaces that are exposed to the germs discovered inside. When you're done with this when you are in the car you know, just put this on paper towel and then you can put it in the cup holder, and then when you're home, you can throw it. In a garbage container that's covered, but please do not litter and throw the gloves just outside the grocery stores if you don't find a garbage bin, because that is littering and that's actually spreading the germs. Okay, I hope this tip was helpful. The other thing I wanted to show you was how to wear your mask properly. So, let's say you have a mask like this. Once you have sanitised your hands and wash your hands make sure you put it on around your ears with your clean hands just kind of form it nice and tight, so make sure that it's covering your nose and your mouth properly. Let say when you are grocery shopping and then when you have to talk, make sure you don't do this before this because once you do that, you're doing two things. You are exposing your nose and your mouth. And you're using your hands to touch the dirty surface. So, make sure that you. Keep it on properly. So, it's nice leftover fell through the mouth, and then you're done your shopping when you come home and you want to get rid of it, use the ear loops. Take the mask out like this and then once again dispose of it in garbage with a close container. I hope you find these tips helpful and useful, and let's do our part in keeping our city of Mississauga clean. Thank you and see you in the next video.
