At Dentistry On 10, we welcome and treat children as early as 2.5-3 years of age while they are awake and comfortably watching Sponge Bob or Dora on TV! Dr. Kotecha’s special interest lies in treating children of all ages. To get rid of the sugar bugs is her passionate mission, and what delights her is getting a beaming smile from the child and heartfelt appreciation from the parent at the end of the dental visit. It is our privilege that we play an integral role in the well-being of your child’s dental health. Our focus is on prevention of disease, and our goal for our young patients is to establish healthy habits of diet and oral hygiene early on in their development to ensure healthy teeth and gums for life. During the preventive visits every six months, we assess for cavities and the eruption pattern of the permanent teeth in relation to the jaw and facial growth. Dr. Kotecha checks for problems involving excessively crooked teeth, deep, open or underbite so that they can be corrected in a timely manner with braces or other Orthodontic appliances. After the assessment, we clean and polish your child’s teeth to remove the cavity causing plaque and provide Fluoride treatment, which is essential for the development of healthy and strong teeth. Brushing and flossing habits are reviewed and at the end of the appointment, the child is rewarded by a treat from our ever popular treasure chest.
