Port Credit area dentist explains the benefits of a tooth implant

A tooth implant, also known as a dental implant, is a titanium dental restoration used to repair the smile. This restoration is versatile, allowing patients to replace one or more teeth, depending on their specific situation. Dr. Rina Kotecha and the team at Dentistry on 10 in the Port Credit area encourage patients who are seeking a way to repair their smile after tooth loss to consider restorations such as dental implants over bridges or dentures whenever possible.

Dental implants are placed surgically into the bone of the jaw. This allows them to act as natural tooth roots. They stimulate the bone growth of the jaw to solidify them in place. Then, they are restored over the top in a variety of ways. They may be designed to hold dentures in place, act as anchors for dental bridges, or to replace teeth by covering them with dental crowns. Dental implants are used in many different situations, which is why they are commonly suggested to patients.

The benefits of dental implants are often what encourage patients to consider them over alternatives including bridges and dentures. Below are some of the most common advantages they have over traditional means of replacing teeth:

Smiling woman
  • Dental implants are biocompatible, made with titanium that doesn’t rust or break down
  • Dental implants are strong and stable, using the jawbone for strength and durability
  • Dental implants can last a lifetime when patients take great care of them
  • Dental implants can improve overall dental health and wellness
  • Dental implants can help maintain bone structure through osseointegration
  • Dental implants allow patients the opportunity to maintain their eating and speaking efficiency
  • Dental implants are a valuable asset to the smile and can be a wonderful, long-term investment
  • Dental implants can be used to stability dentures or anchor in dental bridges

At Dentistry on 10, we believe patients should have access to a wide range of solutions for each dental problem they encounter. Dr. Rina Kotecha and her team encourage individuals to learn about dental implants and other services that can be used to address missing teeth.

Our Happy Patients Say

Procedure – Gum Disease Testimonial

Hi I’m at dentistry on 10 and I had gum disease and they treated it. Laser treatment, laser gum treatment and I just want to say it was awesome. I have the rota dent brush and I use that daily and it keeps my mouth fresh and clean and hopefully it’ll prevent any future issues. The staff here is amazing, always so polite Doctor Rena rocks. I’ve seen her for years totally rocks. She is very kind gentle, especially if you don’t like the dentist. She’s the one to go to because she’s there for you and she’s sensitive to your needs and she rocks. Just want to say I had a root canal with her many, many, years ago and it she’s so gentle. I don’t know what the big issue is with the root canals, so that’s my feelings. All good. Highly recommend.
